The hand loom has been in use since antiquity. There was a time in our country when weaving took place in nearly every home of any considerable size, and most towns had professional weavers who wove cloth for a set price per yard. Hand weaving still involves the same three motions: Treadling with the feet to lift the harnesses; Throwing the shuttle through the shed to carry the weft threads across the warp; Packing the weft with the beater, before starting the cycle all over again. We like the timeless rhythms of weaving; the creative possibilities; the knowledge that we are helping to keep alive an ancient craft.

You can really feel the difference in something hand woven; the cloth has its own unique character and texture. The care we put into our weaving produces beautiful, high-quality products that are useful and durable.
